If a buyer is testing demand or does not yet have complete design material, starting with ready styles is the more direct route. Availability, order quantity and replenishment still need confirmation for each style. This route works best when the buyer can choose from an existing silhouette and focus the discussion on item number, color direction, size split, packing and destination instead of changing the garment itself.
Use reference-led development when the direction is clear
A reference photo, physical sample, measurement direction or fabric target gives a development conversation something concrete to review. State which details are essential and which are only inspiration: for example fit, length, pocket placement, sleeve detail, surface texture or fabric handfeel. Current custom-sample discussion terms are RMB 200 for 1–2 pcs, normally 7–15 days after requirements are confirmed; this is not a blanket ready-wholesale promise.
Bring private-label details into the first RFQ
When a buyer already has a brand, neck label, care label, hangtag, packing, intended quantity and destination should travel with the garment brief. It is clearer than treating private label as a later add-on. A logo alone is not enough for production planning: placement, label size, artwork, care-label copy and packing direction all need to be matched to the garment request.
